Angry Phase

1 min read

As I was going through my old writings, I found a poem from my angry phase after the strokes. I was so mad at the world and at God. Why did this happen to me? Hadn't I been through enough? What in the world was good about this? I hated how everyone seemed to think I would recover so easily. Didn't they realize what I lost? I didn't understand why they expected me to bounce back and do all I could before. Even my job expected me to return as normal. They knew I had two strokes, but they felt that I shouldn't have to do all the doctor and therapy appointments. I wasn't around as much, so I got pushed to the side. I was so frustrated with everyone and my body, but somehow was supposed to still be pleasant. Writing got me through it. I hadn't written any poetry in such a long time, but I'm glad I found it again. It allowed me to get all my feelings out that the majority of people didn't want to see or hear. I thought I'd share my favorite angry piece with all of you. You'll find more of my poetry on the Poetry and Quotes tab. I hope this will make you interested enough to check it out.

Really good! It reminded me of what I had gone through after my stroke. I felt the same way. Congratulations on getting past it, though. I'm still working on it.
